Make String Camera Tripod

This nifty do it yourself idea is for those of us who don’t mind looking silly for that split second whilst taking that prize winning photo. It offers an alternative solution to buying a camera tripod which can be cumbersome, expensive, heavy and an extra piece of kit we may not want carry on our remote adventure.

The mechanics of this do it yourself tripod uses our body structure and tension from a piece of string / rope to stablise our camera when engaging in longer exposure photography. Although not a complete replacement for a tripod, this string version helps us eliminate camera shake and gives us some advantage as compared to hand holding a camera.

So what we’ll need are the following items:

1. An eye bolt
2. A piece of string or rope
